I found out today that I will be going for my promotion interview in 40 days. Having a definite date, despite having known for the last month that it would be sometime in December, brings a round of nerves I have yet to experience. It is a lot of preparing -- a LOT of preparing. Classes and mock interviews and meetings with this manager and that. It's not a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, by any means. But it is the biggest job interview, the biggest promotion, I've ever been offered. And if for some reason I fail, despite my studying and preparing, it will be a year before I have the opportunity again. I am rather restless as it is. So, next week we begin the process. Forty days, yes? I'm on it.
